This event happens shortly after the group leaves Elroys on the First Day back to Rangio.
While walking with Leza, Horus is approached by a messenger, wearing only a cloak but bearing the courier mark known throughout the land, a medium sized human but small to him. As he approaches he looks at Horus and says,
"Pardon me good sir, are you Captain Horus?
Horus asks
Who wants to know?
The messenger does not change his tone or demeanor and says
I am a courier sir, and I have a letter for a Captain Horus, to which you fit the description given me. Are you not this Captain Horus? If not I am sorry for disturbing you
I am captain Horus
The messenger pulls a letter out from his courier bag, hands it to Horus, and says
I am to wait for your reply sir.
And stays where he is.
Horus takes the letter and says
You may be waiting a while.
The courier gives a slight bow and says
My only orders are to wait, so wait I shall good sir
As long as we have that understanding
Horus replies. Horus then looks at the letter he has been handed. He notices that it has a wax seal, one that he does not recognize.
Brother Leza, do you recognize this seal, I don't.
He hands the letter to Leza who takes a look.
Leza:
No, I do not recognize it either. Strange...
Horus turns to the messenger.
Who is this from?
An anonymous sender sir
says the messenger
Why do you refuse to answer? I do not like anonymous senders
Sir, I believe you misunderstand me, I am saying I don't know their name
Not sure I entirely believe you but whatever
Horus says as he opens the letter
Dear "Captain", I pray this letter finds you in good health. We are a group that has watched you for a very long time, and mind you, we know everything. The dedication you've shown your brother Leza is admirable, but know you are surrounded by others some call the chosen, that deserve your dedication as well. We suggest that you keep this in mind, and have care that what we know, and you know, we can make common knowledge. It will benefit you to make sure that your new found "friends" have your protection as well. Do not disappoint us and we will never speak of this again. The messenger waiting simply needs to have an answer of yes or no, do we have your cooperation?" Signed A Few Watchful Eyes
Horus turns to the messenger
Tell your masters this group I am traveling with has always had my protection. As long as I draw breath it shall continue to be so
The messenger says
With all respect good sir, I need to hear you say Yes or No, those are my orders
Horus is getting even more visibly irritated.
Tell them that yes, as long I draw breath this group I travel with shall continue to have my protection. Does that satisfy you?
The messenger seemingly unmoving says
It satisfies the end in my contract
He bows deeply and says
By your leave kind sir
he turns and runs out the gate like any courier would, out of sight with great speed.
