This event happens on the night that the group falls apart.
Balsar returns to Elroy's and knocks on the door, one of the priest let him in and as he gestures to the table Elroy steps into the room.
Elroy says
Good day my friend, please sit
as he gestures to a chair and sits himself
Thank you for meeting with me on such short notice. I have some concerns and would like to speak with you as someone who has yet to steer me wrong
I would be glad to help in any way I can, Please have a seat
Balsar takes a seat
this new person, Damakos, what do you know of him?
Elroy:
that is quite the broad question, I know him as Damakos, he can be quite odd at times and he is always searching more knowledge. I am unsure of what you really want to know about him maybe you could be more specific?
Balsar:
He seems to have a very good knowledge of what happened in the nightmare tower and has every intention of dragging us back. I feel as though he maybe trying to harm us and lead us to our deaths
Elroy:
I would say he does know about the nightmare tower since he has been trying to retrieve something from there for a while. I know he has said it is a tome that he seeks....He has only said there are things in this world and beyond that he himself does not yet understand and can not explain.....
I don't believe him to want to do harm to anyone, he has helped here in Rangio many times
Balsar:
It seems as if he was there when we were and seems to know exactly what happened. He explained he knows we were unprepared and says we left a friend back there. If he knows all this, why wouldn't he help? It seems very odd that we would run into him as we were running from the unspeakable we saw in the tower, almost as if he was sent by the spirits in the tower to bring us back and enslave our souls. The Banshee in the tower said she wanted us and now we run into him
Elroy:
This I can tell you, his actions sometimes are very questionable, this is true. At the same time I have yet to see his intentions to be to hurt anyone. I know, as he has told me that he has entered the Tower many times and seen many parish there. He like you is not quick to trust many and I can only guess as to why. Perhaps for the fear of their reaction to his presence
Balsar:
If he is searching for a group to enter the tower, why would he not enter with the others and try and help them? People have been saying we are 'the chosen ones.' From my understanding, we are what the tower wants to destroy so it can turn Tirianda back into a barren wasteland. Why would he chose us to be the one he enters with and why wouldn't he help when we were in their the first time?
Elroy:
I see you are hesitant in trusting him and I am not to say if you will or wont trust him but ask yourself this...Are you a forgiving man? From what I know of him, I would guess he is not a man who will come out and apologize for his actions. I certainly can not know why he didn't help the others, or why he did not help in the first place. I can only guess at why he didn't. Perhaps he wanted to see if you were worthy to help, Perhaps, he was in fear of what you would make of him, maybe he thought you would clear the way for him to walk in without any danger, we could go thru all the reasons why he might have acted the way he did but we may never know. I can tell you this he is not like you and I, he feels no obligation, out of the goodness of his heart, to help others. Let me ask you this, Balsar... in the tale that you all told of what happened, was this the full truth? Was anything left out?
Balsar:
We told you everything, it just seems too coincidental that we ran for our lives from the Banshee in the tower. She was telling us she wants to enslave us then Damakos shows up wanting to take us back. Is it possible it has all been a charade he has been playing on Rangio waiting for the day we arrive?
Elroy:
so let me see if what I remember is true... You came along to a lone man on the road... A group of what? Eight of you and he tried to charm you in some way...You then started to surround him and he vanished....then as your group attacked two men walking down the road, he reappears...He then saves one of your group, tries to defend some of the group from another member...as one he is defending attacks him he still tries to stop the one that is attacking many and then walks away.
He gets a look on his face as though he is deep in thought for a second and then asks
does this sound like what happened?
Balsar:
That is correct. But had he stayed back and met us in Rangio, that all could have been avoided. But currently that is neither here nor there. Would you follow him into the tower?
Elroy:
As a forgiving man and if I were a group of, what you have ten of you now? I would be watchful but ten against one I would venture back, if I were not past my adventuring days I might still go but I have much here that I tend to each day....Perhaps another talk with him might be in need also, once he has left the encounter behind him. I will guess from past experience he will calm from the situation and will be much less on edge
Balsar satisfied with the answer
I will have to do that. I want to thank you for your time
He extends his hand to shake
I am happy to help
he shakes his hand
If I may, let me give you this one bit of advice to do what you will with. If ever he talks to his Friend Razen know that he will not quite be himself, he will be on edge and perhaps that is the time most to watch his actions
