The party had twice before went to the tower only to leave in a hurry. This time with some help and a decree from the King, the party had entered to clear it of all Undead. They quickly made their way to the top of the tower and as planned both Damakos and Bi'rel hit the banshee with fireballs while Horus and Balsar attacked her head on. Palins, moved thru the shadows to come up behind the banshee and struck the finishing blow.
As the banshee fell so did the rest of the Undead in and around the tower. As the group went thru the rest of the tower to make sure it was cleared of all beast, the guards, the druids and monks outside the tower made sure that the grounds were cleared too. The druids began rituals to bring life back to the grounds and to remove the curse of the undead. Immediately you could see the change in the area, the dying grass and trees started to come back to life and turn to green again. The tower itself started to turn from the blackness back to it's original grey stone, and than as the clerics and the druids performed their ritual, something amazing happened, the magic infused with the stone, as if the evil that drew out left a need for magic, and the stone turned into a silver with purple hew. The land was blessed by Isara, Ahkena, and Deelia, the land now will kill any undead that step onto it's grounds, the trees and fields are more lush and vibrant than the rest of the surrounding area, and even the walls are now covered in seemingly impenetrable Ivy. All soldiers that sleep in the tower gain strength and they have reported their dreams are always pleasant.
As the group gathered outside the work on clearing the tower of everything and bringing in all new furnishings had begun. The tower would now become an important out post for the kingdom. Being centrally located in the north it will become one of the most important locales in the land. Guards will be able to be dispatch anywhere within a few days travel.
The Nightmare Tower is no more, and Fortress Dustwood stands as a beacon of hope in the North.
