"Zoriah" the old master called out, "We have a task for you before you come back and train again, good news is, upon its completion your next training will be free of charge, are you interested?" The old master always spoke to Zoriah like she was an adult and did not pull any punches when speaking to her.

"FREE! What do I have to do? Sam, listen to what Master is saying. I'll try my best."

The old master gave his normal reassuring smile, "There have been reports of the dead rising from the graves and making the crypts under the city unsafe, we would like for you to investigate, but you must be careful, one could easily get lost down there, it is a maze." He looks at her more intently, "You must find if this is the doing of a magic user or not and stop the evil from escaping the crypt." He pulls out a key, "This will unlock the gate off the waterway by the piers, it is the only entrance in and out."

Zoriah takes the key and bows. Before she turns to go, she barely whispers a response..."Master....can I tell you something in secret. I'll only tell if you promise not to get angry. If you look like you're starting to get angry, I'll run. Can we go somewhere so people won't hear us?"

With a smile he says, "but of coarse my dear." And leads her to a room, as the door closes the master whispers a word me it feels like the master has cancelled out all sound for a moment and than it feels like they both stepped into a bubble. "Ok my dear, what is it you would like to talk about?"

"I cam from Crystaldale, I'm sure you've heard of it, biggest Wizarding school anywhere! Anyway, I never knew my parents, the wizards told me they left me at the citadel. The wizards never trained me, not really, but I would read their scrolls, and started to teach myself. I got tired of them not wanting to train me, so I left. I didn't have anywhere to go, so me and Sam just set out on the road. One day, this man tried to take all my food and money, and before I knew what happened, I had killed him. I was so sad, I cried for so long over him. Then it got really scary, he got back up and came after me! Not like a man, he was totally a zombie! I was so scared, but I got him again. Ever since, I've been trying to learn about that power I had, it's scary, so I don't tell anyone about it, but I want to learn about how I raised that man so it doesn't happen on accident again. The wizards taught all schools of magic at the citadel, even Necromancy, but you said that was evil. Because I can do that, does that make me evil? I don't want to be evil, but will you help me learn about Necromancy so I can controll it?"

With that tell tale smile, the old man places a hand on Zoriah's shoulder and says," My dear, you misunderstood me, we think the dead are just rising in the crypt, so your assignment has two parts, first part is to find out if there is a magic user behind this, which we doubt but we want to be sure, second, if the dead are just rising uncontrolled, than they are evil, and need to be destroyed." He looks at Zoriah than reaches into a small pounce on his right hip and mumbles a few words, and than slamming his hand to the ground making a skeleton rise up along side him, "And as far as learning Necromancy goes, why do you think I've been teaching you?"

"I've made some friends here in the city, can they come with me? It's probably way too dangerous for me to go alone. They're older than me, but we all help protect each other."

"My dear, I'm sure that your new friend Shiela is just finished a book that tells her she needs to go into the crypt, and besides, would it be smart for any wizard to fight alone before they become an Arch-Mage Wizard?" And with that, the old master waves his hand and the bubble surrounding the disappears.

"You know Sheila too! She seems a little mean, but she doesn't treat me bad, and I like her. I'll go tell my friends. Do I need to look for anything, or just find out if a magic users doing this?"

The master says, "Nothing special to find though if you go deep enough you might find powerful relics, since the graveyard was built over a hundred years ago, no one really goes into the crypts anymore.

Zoriah, remembering her time with the masters in Crystaldale, bows low and pauses at the lowest point, "Master Zen". She stands straight again and turns to leave.
