...the healers said it was a miracle from the Gods themselves. Bi'rel let them think whatever they wanted but since they didn't mention anything about magical scales, she kept her bloodlines to herself. The fewer people new the truth, the less she had to worry about putting the chosen ones in danger, but what if they needed her now, she was in a internal battle, so she returned to her room.
It surprised her to see a halfling on her bed sitting as if they were old friends, but she knew of the kings Spymaster already, and startled was all he would get from her.
"Who are you, and what are you doing in my room?" She said as flames began to form on her finger tips. The halfling seemed unimpressed by the display, "Bi'rel Näilo," the halfling pronounced her name in perfect elvish, "I have not come to harm you but help you." He said waving someone, a hooded figure from the shadows forward, "I know of your fear of the Drazah Kazad, and I know how hundreds of years ago your kind was exiled from your home. I want to help you." He said extending his hand, "May I see your ring?" Curious, she removed the ring from her finger and handed it to him, "I need that to go home." She said, surprising herself, which also brought a slight grin to the halflings face. "I'm glad you like the base," he said handing the ring to the hooded figure who began chanting in a language she felt she knew but could not place. A bright blue glow began to burst forth from the ring, and she gasped as the light shown bright as the last of the spell was cast, and the face of a true blood drow looked back at her, the light subsided, and the drow went back into the shadows and was gone. The halfling handed the ring back to Bi'rel and said, "You will find your anxiety tamed a bit, not gone because I know what the drow will do to you if they discover you, and a small amount of fear and anxiety is healthy. But the ring will give you the ability to enter the Drazah Kazad now, without you being unable to control your fear." She quickly put the ring back on, like she was naked without it. "She finally let her curiosity get the better of her and said, "Aren't you the spymaster to King Slater? Why are you trying to help me instead of using me to make the Kings lands safer?" The Master smiled again, a slight sadness in him eyes, "The unchanged and straight truth, which I rarely use anymore is that my friends, including my closest friend Damakos, is in the Drazah Kazad, and they need their protector. You are not the only one who believes them to be the chosen ones, and as I find more of the prophecy in my research, I become more convinced everyday. If my King is to come to true power in this land and be able to keep it safe, then they must return to finish their quest. You, I believe are the guardian who changes the tide of battle that the prophecy speaks of, and you must never tell them." He said as he stood from the bed, "Go Bi'rel Näilo, Guardian of the Chosen, go to them and fulfill your destiny." As he finished the hooded figure came forward to stand behind him and he said, "I'm glad you have finally found a home, I will tell the Druids of this the next time we speak." And the hooded figure grabbed The Masters shoulder and both vanish.
She stared only for a second and gathered her things quickly, and headed for the trap door. "Open the door!" She shouted as she approached, and the soldiers obeyed. "The Chosen need me." Was the last thing the soldiers heard as she descended down the hole.
