Dwarves are known as skilled warriors, miners, and workers of stone and metal. Though they are under 5 feet tall they are broad and compact and can weigh as much as a human standing 2 feet taller. Their courage and endurance can easily match any of the taller folk.
Dwarves can live to be more than 400 years old, some of the oldest Dwarves can remember a much different world. Dwarves in general respect tradition and have a hard time abandoning those traditions of their clans. Many are determined and loyal, true to their word and decisive in action, sometimes to the point of stubbornness. Many have a strong sense of justice and they are slow to forget wrongs they have suffered. A wrong done to one is a wrong done to the whole clan.
A Dwarves world revolves around his clan and his standing within the clan. Being clanless is the worst fate that can befall a Dwarf.
Dwarves are typically slow to trust other races. An old Dwarven saying: "The difference between an acquaintance and a friend is about a hundred years"
Typical Dwarven thoughts...
"Elves": It's not wise to depend on Elves, there is no telling what they might do next, they are flighty and frivolous. When the Orcs come they are good to have at your back, maybe not as good as a Dwarf, but no doubt they hate the Orcs as much as we do.
"Halflings": Sure they are pleasant folk. But show me a Halfling hero, or treasure for the ages made by their hands..Nothing. How can you take them seriously?
"Humans": Take the time to get to know them and then they are on their death bed. Though, when they put their heart to something they often get it. You have to admire that kind of dedication even if it gets them in trouble more often than not.
"Dragonborn": Though they are a strong, hardy and proud bunch it's often hard to tell the good from the evil. Often their over confidence will be their down fall.
"Gnome": A smart bunch but forever wasting time with the jokes and pranks, an annoying bunch mostly. Though if your looking for something made of wood and gears there are none better.
"Half-elf": Some say they have the best traits of both the Humans and the Elves but many are sure to have the worse too.
"Half-orc": Hating the whole beast is easier than hating half the beast. It will be far a few that can prove that their Human half outweighs the Orc half.
"Tiefling": Demons and Devils or Tieflings as they are called. Rarely are they to be trusted.
