It was about 2 years into Rebecca Reliviantient's reign. The truth had come forward from the last Paladin hunters of Temple Justice. Last because they had vindicated all Paladins of there suspected wrong doings and Cleric Shiela Cremwell's, then Blandersmiths, acceptance of the Cleric of Djundurs involvement. Though one relic still remained to make the Temple of Djundur whole in the capital city of Demathios, the library was magically reconstructed and the lies and wrongdoings of the clerics of old had been brought to light. High-Cleric of Djundur had ordered Shiela to assist Martin on the reconstruction of the newly found Circle of Djundur temple, to help put right the past crimes of the order and re establish the order of Paladins to their rightful place. Spending many long nights and days together in research, Martin and Shiela had become close, and Martin was the first man Shiela ever admired. One long night, many months after the reconstruction had began, Shiela broke down in front of Martin. She spoke of how it had been a burden on her heart all these years, when she alone struck the final blow against the Lord-Commander so long ago. She explained how she did not want to do it, seeing good in what the man was teaching, even feeling how wrong it was to take his life, but how her blind obedience to duty and commitment to the kingdom overcame her own feelings as she took the mans life. She drew her warhammer, knelt down and while looking straight into Martins eyes, told him that she felt that Djundurs Justice needed to be served, and she placed her life in his hands.
Martin stood and drew the warhammer from Shiela's hands, who now, still looking into his eyes, gave the death creed, giving her soul to Djundur to serve until her debt was repaid. Martin closed his eyes and prayed himself, and with a startle to Shiela he opened his eyes and dropped the warhammer. Martin told Shiela of his vision in that moment, where he say there God looking down at Shiela, and he described the event in great detail. Martin said, "The Lord Djundur looked to me and said, 'Paladin Cremwell, your Lord-Commander has given his life to the cause. Shiela will become High-Cleric of the circle one day, but needed this to solidify her soul to me. Forgive her this day, and my Circle will become complete once again.' I returned here, and I must not forgive you, but remind you that upon that act you have paved the Lord Djundurs way in his will. I admire your resolve, your commitment to your faith you showed that day, the strength of character and loyalty to the realm." That was the day they began to court, and it became the foundation of their marriage on June 17, 1135. They had 4 children and their oldest, Samantha Cremwell, upon her 14th name day, became the only Cremwell child to commit their life to the service of Djundur.
Her mother understood when she took the traditional route her mother did, under the tutelage of the High-Cleric of Djundur, to be sure she was not curried favor from her mother. She took to the crafts of a cleric quickly, and through a commitment of her heart, became one of the few studied life clerics, even going so far to demand taking the Ancient Life Vow. She became proficient in every type of weapon and armor the order offered, but always she said she was more comfortable staying in the traditional robes, and using her brain as her weapon. At her graduation ceremony at 16, she demanded and was blessed to receive the Ancient title of Priestess Samantha Cremwell of the Temple of Djundur and asked her mother and father to be considered as the first cleric student of the Circle of Djundur. Her father told her of his worries as a priestess having the role of a cleric in the traditional cleric/paladin pairing, but her mother soon convinced him to let her try, and to either succeed or fail on her own. Her father agreed, telling her no special favors would be given to her, to which she replied, "Yes, my Lord-Commander."
Her long time friend, a full Orc she had become close to at a young age, was the first paladin trainee under the new freedom laws, and she was glad to have a familiar face during these unknown trials she would face. It took some doing and a lot of perseverance, but she adapted to the training, and became the first known pacifist in history to be in a Circle. She was also honored to be present when her friend cast away his old name, and on his oath day, took the name Lothor Brightflame, and became the first Full Orc Paladin in known history!
They have travelled on many adventures and had many deep discussions on the topic of their service, but their bond of friendship has brought them through so much, more than either could have ever hoped. They travel Enin in service to their Queen and country, doing the work of Djundur, and getting sucked into the dealings of Argus and Amarantha Quintas, their childhood friends.
